Methods and Capabilities

This is the technical-method layer that supports Focus Areas. Use it when the product wedge is already clear and the question becomes: what scientific depth, benchmark discipline, or systems knowledge does the partner need to bring?

Current Core Capability Pages

Capability Area What It Covers Linked Problem-Led Focus Areas
Geometry and B-Rep Reasoning feature extraction, topology, persistent identities, structured CAD semantics drawing intelligence, DFM, CAE automation
Manufacturing Physics and DFM manufacturability logic, process-aware review, production constraints DFM and manufacturing reasoning, drawing intelligence
Simulation and Mechanics preprocessing, geometry abstraction, simulation setup and validation logic CAE and simulation automation
Knowledge Graphs and Ontologies engineering memory, structured entities, retrieval and reusable knowledge logic engineering knowledge capture, PLM and digital thread
PLM and Digital Thread Systems lifecycle context, change impact, engineering automation and system-level context PLM and digital thread automation, engineering knowledge capture
Benchmarking and Evaluation datasets, metrics, validation criteria, benchmark design for engineering copilots drawing intelligence, CAE automation, PLM and digital thread
Trustworthy and Explainable Engineering AI explainability, uncertainty, traceability, decision support and trust engineering knowledge capture, DFM, review intelligence

Rules For This Section

  • A method page should describe methods, constraints, and evaluation logic.
  • A method page should not become a disguised institution profile.
  • Labs and people belong here only as linked supporting evidence.
  • If the page starts reading like a project brief, move that content into a work package.

Open Questions

  • Should standards formalization later split away from PLM and digital thread into its own capability page?
  • Is a dedicated packaging-machinery capability page warranted, or should that stay at the problem-space and work-package level?
