Leads¶
Leads are the action-facing records for people and labs. They exist to help a work package move into qualification, outreach, or follow-through without turning the wiki into a directory.
Action Layer Versus Coverage Layer¶
| Layer | Use It When | Primary Page |
|---|---|---|
| Action people | the next move is contact qualification, outreach prep, or conversation support | People Index |
| Action labs | you need a capability container rather than an individual | Labs Index |
| Coverage register | completeness, deduplication, or long-tail recovery matters more than immediate action | Professor and Lead Coverage Register |
Hard Rules¶
- Do not let institutions become the main navigation spine.
- Do not create lead pages with no links from work packages or opportunities.
- Keep institutions thin.
- Keep people practical: only create standalone pages when they help action, qualification, or CRM work.
- Treat the full professor register as a coverage artifact, not a co-equal front door.
Start Here¶
- Use People Index when the next move is contact qualification or outreach preparation.
- Use Labs Index when you need a capability container instead of an individual.
- Use Professor and Lead Coverage Register only when coverage completeness matters more than immediate actionability.
Open Questions¶
- Should the first leads layer be created manually, or later generated from frontmatter and tables?
- Should institution pages live here or be deferred until the first real cross-links exist?
