Pack: G_BASELINE Severity: major

Keep molded blind holes short enough that the supporting core pin stays stiff

Rule Card

Field Value
Pack G_BASELINE — DFM Baseline Codex
Title Keep molded blind holes short enough that the supporting core pin stays stiff
Severity major
Check logic Deterministic
Applies to CAD hole feature
Inputs required hole_depth, hole_diameter
Fix template Shorten the blind hole, convert it to a through feature, or redesign the local geometry so the core pin is not forced into a high-deflection aspect ratio.

Short Description

A long unsupported core pin bends under melt pressure, so deep blind holes become a tooling stiffness problem before they become a feature convenience. Through holes are much easier to hold straight than blind ones.

When It Applies

This rule belongs to G_BASELINE (Shared across multiple manufacturing routes) and targets CAD hole feature.
