Question¶
What does Drawing Lab do, and what may a reader claim from its results?
Short answer¶
Drawing Lab turns a source drawing into reviewable evidence. It uses four stages: Extraction, Detection, Understand, and Validate. Detection shows mechanical evidence. Understand assigns engineering meaning. Validate measures results against human-reviewed truth. This wiki explains the operating model, evidence families, algorithm history, and claim boundaries. It is not a code tracker and not a source-file catalog.

Claim boundary¶
Software tests verify behavior. Software tests do not validate drawing accuracy. A detector score is not semantic truth. A possible dimension is not a confirmed dimension. IBM TableFormer recovers structure from a selected table crop only. The bare Docling Heron checkpoint is not the full Docling pipeline.
Open Questions¶
- Which representative sheet set will first support validated table and dimension accuracy?
- When will detected-sheet assembly move from work-in-progress review layers to an accepted product claim?
