Open CASCADE Visualization

This page tracks Open CASCADE's public visualization material as an external technical reference.

Why It Matters

Open CASCADE is already part of TextCAD's technical direction, so this is not competition in the usual sense. It still belongs here because the public visualization documentation is a third-party reference point that shapes how we interpret available viewer patterns, rendering capabilities, and engineering trade-offs in the broader ecosystem.

What It Signals

  • OCCT exposes a mature visualization model with clear separation between presentation, selection, and 3D viewing responsibilities
  • external documentation can inform how we explain or benchmark our own viewer stack
  • the right use of this source is architectural interpretation, not blind stack adoption

Product Interpretation

Track this page as ecosystem and inspiration material, then carry only the product-facing conclusion into the Product Wiki. That keeps the boundary clean: public external reference here, RapidDraft architecture implication there.

Open Questions

  • Which OCCT visualization patterns materially affect RapidDraft's viewer choices today?
  • Should this reference also be cited from a Product-side runtime-architecture page?
